Dos años...

2 month check-up!

(On the way to her 2 month check-up!)

We just got back from Lola's 2 month check-up at Dr. Geja's office. Her 2 month stats are:
10 lbs. 6 oz. (50th percentile)
21 1/2 in.

The doctor said she is doing great! She was happy to see that she can hold her neck up well and holds her gaze into my eyes for an extended period of time (a great sign of attachment). She said her eating and sleeping habits are good, too. I mentioned to the nurse she has developed a pattern of fussiness from about 6-8 pm every night, but she said it's normal for some babies and that it's nothing to be concerned about, she will eventually grow out of it. For the most part, she is a very happy, sweet and loving baby. Everyone needs a good cry now and then and I guess she likes to do her complaining on a schedule! Haha!

She took her shots like a champ and seemed to enjoy the Cherry Tylenol. She's napping peacefully in her swing as I blog. All in all a great visit!

A few from Week 8

8 weeks already, can you believe it?! She's growing like a weed! Her 2 month check-up is on Tuesday (our 2nd anniversary!) and we're pretty sure she's somewhere between 11 and 12 pounds, although she's still in newborn sized clothes. We put her in a 3 month old sleeper last night and she was swimming in it.

We are loving every second with her. She continues to make us smile constantly. Her favorite thing of the moment is stretching and kicking and cooing and smiling while she gets her diaper changed. She's a little fussy lately at night, but I'm told by a wise mother I know that that is normal for this age. :) She is gifting us with a full nights sleep here and there, though nothing consistently yet. One more month with us and she'll be moving into her very own room. Time to get the crib ready soon!

Anyone think I'm getting chubby?

St. George 75th Anniversary Mass

I mentioned a few posts ago I've been helping plan our parish's 75th Anniversary for the past year. It's been alot of hard work for all involved, but has all been so very worth it (for as blessed as we are, it's the least we could do!) This morning was the first event of our Jubilee year. Bishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller celebrated our Mass, assisted by the priests and deacons of St. George. The pews were packed and after the Mass, we headed into our Parish Life Center and had a great lunch. This was Lola's first time at Mass and she did great. She slept through pretty much the whole thing, but it wouldn't have been fine if she decided to fuss too because we were in the "cry room"--our new home on Sunday mornings, probably until she's out of the toddler stage! I can actually still remember sitting in the cry room at the back of church when I was young--though I don't know why, because I was always a perfect angel (hehe!). Enjoy the pics!

Clark's First Birthday Party

We headed down to St. Louis Saturday morning to celebrate Clark's first birthday! Mom and Dad planned an awesome "Godfather" themed party for their little Italian prince. He has grown so much in just a short year and is quite possibly one of the cutest little boys on this planet! We had such a blast and Lola got to meet more of her Florida family (Uncle Rich & Aunt Janis and cousins Joe & Traci!). All in all, it was a long week of traveling, but so worth it and Lola did great! Enjoy the pics!

WE LOVE YOU CLARK!

We got him a Star Wars book for Daddy to read to him!

Thank You

...to all the women who stood up to the injustice of not having the right to vote. Because of their bravery and refusal to accept the status quo, I get to cast my vote for the candidate of my choosing on November 4.

Lola rocks a hoodie...

We put Lola in a little hoodie last night before we went out for dinner and we just thought she looked so silly/funny, we couldn't resist a few pics! Who agrees she has signs of inheriting Mommy's cheeks?!

The Polish Princess with her Polka King

Circa 1999

For the past year I've been helping with publicity efforts for St. George's 75th Anniversary which we will begin to celebrate with an Opening Mass on September 28. Check out the blog I made for it:

St. George 75th Anniversary Blog

I've made some great friendships this year with other committee members. My dear friend Martha, our co-chair, was going through old pictures the other day and found this and forwarded it to me. It's of Papa and I after the Polish Mass. We're doing the Polka...a dance we've done together for years! It makes me remember all the amazing moments I spent with him and Bragie together. Watching the love they had for each other was an honor. They always set the best example for me. I never thought I'd be so lucky to have what they had...and now I do! I couldn't be more blessed...

Greetings from Ft. Wayne, Indiana!

Lola & Mommy are tagging along on Daddy's business trip this week. We packed up the rental car yesterday (why does such a small baby need SO MUCH stuff?!) and headed east. The trip should have only taken us a little over 3 hours but it ended up taking 6! Part of I-80 was closed from all the flooding last weekend's rain brought, so much of the traffic was diverted onto our route along US-30. So we crept along at about 5 mph for close to 2 hours. But Lola was a little angel the whole time. We only had to stop twice to feed/change her. We kept her entertained by signing her the songs from Foo's Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace and The Beach Boy's Greatest Hits.

I'm going to try to post Week 6 pictures ASAP I promise. I know I'm late with these...but again, my computer and I are NOT getting along. Thankfully, this nice hotel has a business center with free computers :)

OH! I almost forgot some really awesome news!!!! Lola slept from 10 pm-6 am last night. This is the first time she has EVER done that. I'm praying this is a continuing trend and not a one-time deal. :)

Her first photo shoot...

Well...that was an experience! We took Lola to Picture People tonight to get some 1 month pictures done. It went OK. She was a little fussy so they only got a few good ones. All in all it was a good experience and she was a trooper. I think it'll be easier in the coming months. But we walked away with a cute 10x13 to hang over the mantle. They've made the proofs available online:

(How beautiful is that blanket?! Thanks again Auntie Mary and Jessie, we love it!)

Next month we're going to have her picture taken wearing her Christening gown. I'm so excited about this. We're having her gown made from my wedding dress! I always thought that it would be so special to have this done and I found a great seamstress up north who specializes in turning wedding dresses into Christening gowns! Stay tuned!!
