My sister, the artist.

Look what Britt made for Lola...
a little Easter treat mommy ate as soon as she was done documenting the creativity.

No news is good news!

We just got back from my weekly doctor's appointment and things look great with the good ol' cervix. The length has stayed pretty much the same in the last 4 weeks, which is what we've been hoping for. So I'll continue house arrest (bed rest) until further notice. I'm hoping my doc will issue parole in about 2 more months. But only if I behave.

John's off to Florida for the week tomorrow without me. Very sad he has to go and I have to stay here. We were really looking forward to seeing everyone and celebrating Joe & Traci's wedding. But thankfully, I have visitors lined up to visit every day of the week, so I'm hoping it flies by and Lola's daddy is home again before I even realize he's gone.

So there's the little update on us. Thank you all so much for your prayers and well wishes. We know they're working!

xoxo

Happy Easter

(22 weeks)
Happy Easter everyone! We hope you have a blessed holiday with the loved ones that surround you. We're headed to Mom's for breakfast and then Uncle Dave and Auntie Karen's for dinner. Yes, I'm breaking free from house arrest...I mean bed rest....for the day. I can lay on someone else's couch just as easy as I can lay on mine! :)

Lola likes...

MUSIC!

Before work Daddy played her some of the tunes off his iPod. We put the headphones on my belly (at about 6:30 this morning!) and she instantly started kicking and punching up a storm. She got down to Miracle by the Foo Fighters.

Of course I worried for a second thinking the sound would damage her ears but I quickly realized she's quite insulated and it was probably pretty muffled to her.

We can't wait to dance with her when she's here!!!!

Today is Good Friday

St. Patrick's Breastplate

“Christ shield me this day: Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of every person who thinks of me, Christ in the eye that sees me, Christ in the ear that hears me.” ~St. Patrick

Have scooter, will travel...

Feeling like a prisoner in my own home, my loving husband offered to take me out for a little bit today. He said we could go to any store I wanted and he'd push me around in a wheelchair. I said, Hey...let's go to Kmart. They've got the car seat that I like for Lola.

So off to Kmart we went. He went in to get the wheelchair and I waited in the car. He comes out to get me in the parking lot accompanied by a nice customer service rep who though instead of a wheelchair, I should roll in style....IN A MOTORIZED SCOOTER. I thought it was a little excessive, but I swallowed my pride and hopped in. I quickly got over how ridiculous the scene was and we headed for the baby section. I quickly enjoyed my ride and we laughed at ourselves around the entire store.

This is very similar to what I was cruising around in:

A small victory over corporate America...

Everyone has a love-hate relationship with the cable company. Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em. Well, as I was doing our bills for this month I just realized our cable bill went up $40 from last month and we had the exact same services, etc. With further examination I noticed our promotional one-year rate had expired (Happy 1 Year Homeowners Anniversary to us, btw). So I called and calmly told them that I would transfer my business to AT&T cable who's bundled service rate never expires unless they were willing to change our rates back to what it was before. They obliged. And shockingly, without a fight.

I guess Mom was right: You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.

Just a little update...

On Wednesday, we get to celebrate the halfway mark--20 weeks! Time is zooming right past us and our little Lola will be here before we know it. She is pretty active lately, especially when Mommy lays on her back, which she has been doing alot of because...

...she's on bed rest. Yes, you read that right. I'm on bed rest. For at least the next few weeks. Everything is just fine with Lola and I. My doctor is doing it as a precautionary measure because I'm at risk for cervical incompetence.

I'm hanging in there. Just a little bored. So if you're in the area, you're more than welcome to come keep me company! (hint hint)

We'll keep you posted, but as always, we just ask for your continued prayers. They have helped abundantly thus far.

XOXO
