Look at me...I CAN WALK!
I was hoping she'd be walking by her first birthday, I'll admit. Something about the though of her wobbling around at her party made me giddy with excitement. I'm starting to wonder if our daughter is a mind-reader. There she goes again granting every wish Mommy has ever had. :)
The Springs
I didn't bring my camera, but Joe and Traci joined us later in the morning and they snapped some pictures. You can see their pictures HERE.

A Simple & Beautiful Truth
"There is a center to each home from which all joys must start--it is a mother's heart."
Now, after being a mother myself, I realize there is no vessel that contains as much joy as a mother's heart. What could possibly bring more joy in all the world than to see your child grow?

Shopping with Grandma
How cute are these shoes?! They’ll be adorning Lola’s lil feet in a few days. Grandma and Lola did what ladies do best this morning—they went shopping! Mommy tagged along, too :)
We went into two favorite boutiques in Baldwin Park and we found the perfect pair of new shoes for Lola at Lulu Belle. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the right size, so when we got home, we ordered them from See Kai Run. They are made of butter soft leather. Nothing but luxury for Lola. Thank you Grandma! While we were there, we browsed their racks of incredibly unique and stylish (but insanely expensive) threads for baby—I’m still on the hunt for her birthday dress. We had her try on the most adorable tutu skirt EVER, but we couldn’t bring ourselves to pay $100 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) for it. If money was no object though, she’d already be wearing it!
We stopped in Tiny Toes as well for their story-time. Instead of their usual story-time, they had an impromptu play-date and face painting party going on. Lola jumped right in, and while she didn’t get her face painted or eat one of the complimentary cupcakes, she loved socializing with the other children and above all, playing kitchen! It seemed as though she knew exactly what to do (probably because she’s always hanging out in ours with me.) I thought she was still to young for her own kitchen but now I’m starting to think it will be the perfect Christmas gift for her this year!
These two are ready to do some damage.
Safe landing!
We left
Lola was a perfect angel traveling and was happy as could be when we arrived and she saw her family she misses and loves so much.
Everyone came over to Mom and Dad’s last night and they had a blast being entertained by Lola’s antics. Within minutes, Lola had destroyed Mom and Dad’s nice, clean house by tearing apart their end table and “re-organizing” their magazines. Of course, they could care less. She loves playing with those magazines.
We had an awesome dinner of (all home-made) bruschetta, chopped salad, slow roasted ribs, grilled Italian sausage and sautéed broccoli w/ garlic. Lola got to naw at several pieces of Italian bread, compliments of Grandma. She loved it!
Enjoy the pics…many more to come!
Thanks for the Princess Leia get-up Uncle Mikey!
