Summer Buddies

We love hanging with our buddies, the Noonan's! They live right near my office so it's easy to get together for a weeknight dinner--and before we know it, it's 8 o'clock in the evening and the kids are covered in sand & dirt, hurtin' for a bath! What's even better is that John was home this week (yea, no travel!) and we all got to be together. Grilling, beers, hanging in their beautiful back yard--it felt like the weekend, almost.

They all sat so sweet for a quick photo just before dinner--and on second glance, I realize, it looks like John and I have boy-girl twins, not an almost 5 and almost 3 year old! When they're sitting down like this, it looks like they could be!

"Let There Be Love"

Lola danced in her second recital today! She attends an AMAZING studio close to where we live and we can't wait to watch her grow there. She has been taking a tap+ballet combo class for the last three years, but as she turns 5, she will study each style separately come fall. We're thinking tap, ballet and jazz. She did great on stage once again and had to be the cutest little dancer up there during the finale.

It's been quite awhile since Mommy has captured some photos of her with my good camera/lens. We stepped out in our "backyard"a few minutes before we left and I just love how gorgeous she looks in these--this is essential Lola sugar--AND spice!

It was sports week in Johnny's class. I put the newsletter on the fridge. When I glanced back at it, I saw that Daddy had left his mark.

Jigsaw Boy

Our kids love puzzles! Always have. We were amazed at what an interest Lola had in them from a very young age, so we encourgaged it with Johnny as well, always giving him puzzles that were "above his pay grade" if you will :) to challange him. 

He is at such an exciting stage. Talking so much, telling us new things every day and sharpening his jigaw skills very quickly!

PreK Spring Show Brings Mama Waterworks

Lola had her spring show this morning at school. It was called "E-I-E-I-Opps!". Very cute. She was a part of the "chick" crew (hence the yellow shirts). It was sweet, as always. At the end, Mrs. Mary Beth was talking about how much they have bloomed this year and I totally, utterly lost it. Started bawling like a baby. Thankful I had my mom sitting next to me!

It's been an awesome two years of preschool for Lola at NEA. Even though she is just moving over to the next classroom in the fall, it's still hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact she is going to be in KINDERGARTEN next year. I am so excited for her, I know she's going to love it. However, I've also resigned myself to the fact I'm going to be a wreck that day--and if this is what I was like at the spring show, I'm starting to really worry about my state on that day this fall!
